The Laundry Lance is an Eco-Friendly household product that helps to reduce excessive use of energy by assisting the machines in washing and drying laundry completely the first time, avoiding repeating the washing and drying cycles.
What is the Concept? ... This product concept was born out of frustration, particularly during the drying process of bed sheets and linens having to run through the drying cycles multiple times to fully dry the linens. Many times the consumer has to open and reopen the dryer to manually shift and separate the articles of clothing, bed sheets and linens, resulting in time consumed repeating the drying process and wasting energy by having to open and close the dryer and restart for additional drying time. A secondary benefit or use of the Laundry Lance came from a small focus group discussion about tangled clothing during the wash and even some frustration on washer's agitator destroying clothing. The Laundry Lance design helps to keep the clothing separated during the wash and away form the agitator on upright washing machines.
What Problem Does It Solve?
The Laundry Lance will keep laundry from rolling into a ball wet, damp ball in the dryer, eliminating the need to manually interrupt the drying cycle and separate laundry. This will work particularly well with large articles such as bed sheets, towels, blankets, sweatshirts. This will also save energy by helping the dryer dry the load completely in one cycle as opposed to having extend the cycle because of the elimination of the "balled up damp" delay problem. A second use for the product would be to possibly prevent the destruction of some "strapped" articles during the wash cycle by preventing the straps from being entangled around the agitator in upright washers during the washing process.
